Mammoth bones rest in Washakie Museum in Worland

WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) – Mammoth bones dug up near Worland in the
1970s are now resting in a permanent exhibit at the Washakie Museum
and Cultural Center.
The site east of Worland where the bones were dug was discovered
in 1962 by Donald Colby.
The dig site also yielded Clovis points – arrowheads that were
used by early hunters.
Work on the exhibit of mammoth bones is still being done at the
Worland museum.
The Washakie Museum will have grand opening celebration on May
14.
