Wyo. gas company seeks $7.8 million rate hike

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) – SourceGas is asking the Wyoming Public
Service Commission for permission to raise rates for its customers
across the state.
The utility has 77,250 customers in Wyoming. If approved, the
$7.47 million rate hike would increase the average bill for
residential and small business customers by about $8.28 a month.
SourceGas officials say the increase is needed to cover higher
operating costs, facility investments and declining customer usage.
If approved, it would be the first rate increase since 2006 and
would go into effect on April 1.
