17-Mile Road temporary bridge opening delayed to Sept. 14

(WIND RIVER RESERVATION)  Opening of a temporary detour bridge over the Little Wind River on 17-Mile Road has been delayed to Tuesday, Sept. 14, according to Robert Scheidemantel, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Riverton.

The opening of the bridge is being delayed due to erosion of the river bed.  In the coming week, paving of the roadway detour route will be completed, and signing and guardrail will be installed.

The permanent bridge was damaged beyond repair due to June flooding in Fremont County.
