Tuesday’s high winds blows over semi on South Pass

(LANDER)   Yesterday’s strong winds on South pass were strong enough to blow over a semi truck.

While it isn’t known how hard the wind was blowing at the time of the crash, the weather service stated yesterday that winds on South Pass were expected to reach speeds of 75 mph.

An empty cattle semi truck was reported to have blown over on its side around mile post 60 yesterday afternoon.  There were no injuries or road blockage, however the Lander Rural Fire Department were called to help extinguish an engine fire on the semi.

A wrecker showed up shortly after and cleared the scene.
