Lander resident Lois M. Chamber, 81, died Sunday December 11, 2011 at theLanderRegionalHospital. She had just recently found out she had cancer.
Celebration of her life will be held at 10am Tuesday December 13, 2011 atFirstBaptistChurchin Lander. The service will be officiated by Pastor Scott Engilhact. Internment will be held atMt.HopeCemetery. Memorials can be made toFirstBaptistChurch.
Lois was born inDes Moines,Iowaon March 10, 1930. Lois was the daughter of Norbert and Eva Ribble. At the age of 2 1/2 , she and her family moved toCheyenne,Wyoming. In 1936 Lois and her family moved to Lander,Wyoming.
On December 26, 1959 she married Paul A. Chambers. They were married 42 years when he passed away in 2001.
Lois was employed in Lander as a telephone operator, a meat cutter at Safeway and after completing business school to be a legal secretary, Lois was employed by Art Olse, Betty Kale, and Arnold Tschigi for 51 years. She retired last year.
She enjoyed reading, bible study, crocheting, quilting, domino’s and Christian Women’s Church. She was also a member of theFirstBaptistChurch, where she served in several capacities.
Lois is survived by her daughters Bobbie, and her husband Jim of Elberon,Iowa, and Barb Chambers of Lander, her 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her sister Leah Nitz ofGreensburg,Indiana. Special friends Barbara and Robert Raynor, Abby and Adam.
Preceding her in death is her husband Paul, her parents and Brother in Law John.
